The 60-year-old is being questioned after failing to win none of his first seven matches since replacing the previous boss last month

Nottingham Forest were considering available choices over the pause in fixtures, with ex-Burnley boss Sean Dyche among the names evaluated as an alternative even though Postecoglou only being appointed for barely over a month

Forest faces the London club on Saturday with the manager delivered a lengthy address at his pre-match press conference, with the team occupying 17th position in England's top flight

"Some look on the negatives but I look at the development occurring," he declared, "I am really excited since I work with a team of developing footballers willing to change"

He also confirmed he hadn't communicated to owner the Forest proprietor throughout the break

"I don't intend to use my energy about others' opinions" he continued

"I genuinely don't match, not only in this role, just in general" he explained

Previous Club History

"I became manager of the North London club and received instructions by the chairman at the time 'this organization needs to claim silverware'"

"He commented 'we've tried to bring winners in, the Special One and Antonio [Conte] and it hasn't worked, we must have a different approach'"

"I was a bit taken aback by those words because I see myself as successful"

Justifying His Performance

"We secured fifth place in my initial campaign" he recalled

"Whenever Harry Kane found the net I would hope he'd just stayed for additional time because it would have been handy to keep his services after finishing fifth"

"But somehow that year has disappeared from the record books" he contended

Future Focus

"Thus, we reach the existing circumstances where there's an alternative narrative to tell, that possibly I'm no an unsuccessful coach who was fortunate to get this job"

"but perhaps I'm a leader that if you give them time, the narrative consistently concludes identically"

"With every team I've managed, the result is consistent - with me celebrating success"

Postecoglou won continental honors last spring - the club's initial honor for 17 years and their first European honor after forty-one years

Previous Scottish champion also promised, if given time, he would persist with his track record of winning trophies throughout his managerial career
